Sewing frenzy

I've been feeling very crafty lately.... it comes in waves. I actually got a LOT accomplished in the past couple days while my girls played with every toy they own, all over the house. (They had a camp out in the living room.) Now my house needs a lot of work, but I have some cute stuff!

Ruffle tank for Roma.
Ribbon tank for ME!!!
I haven't made myself something in quite a while. I LOVE how this turned out. Doesn't it make you want to go to your Grandma's house for some ribbon candy??

Dress for Roma.

I'm in love with ribbon ruffles!

Cool camera strap

I've been wanting to make this for a while. I saw some on etsy and thought they were cute. I made a sleeve so I wouldn't have to sew through the actual camera strap. Now I can easily take it off when I'm ready for another pattern. Notice the ruffle, I'm very into ruffles lately.

Repurpose your trash...

So, Roma recently had a birthday party that I decided would be "green." I served Capri Sun drinks to the kids and kept the drink bags with the intention of making something out of them. I finally got around to it and they turned out really cute! It was really easy to do. I taped the bags together in the shape that I wanted, then I sewed them together on my sewing machine...yes, it worked! I wasn't sure about the sewing part. It was an easy, fun project that I might try again!

I made a pencil bag....

and a little clutch. I wanted to put a handle on it but Maren didn't want one.

Faux Slumber Party

My daughter had a pretend sleepover party for her 5th birthday. I got the super cute idea from a friend. I made "sleeping girl" cupcakes, with teddy bears. The table was decorated to look like a bed with two sheets and a pillow.
I decided I wanted to make it a "green" party. I didn't buy any paper products, I used my plastic Ikea plates, cloth napkins, sheets instead of a disposable table cloth, and we had Capri Suns instead of juice boxes - I plan to make a bag or something out of them soon.

Paper Necklace

This was so easy! Cut out circles or squares from paper. I used card stock and my Sizzix. Thread them onto a cord, put some beads in between, and you're done!

Under the Sea

The "Ariel" bedroom is finished. I made felt fish, seaweed, seahorse, even Ponyo (my kids LOVE that movie.) I didn't want to paint the walls blue, so the pink walls are more of a mermaid grotto with the blue water flowing down. My daughter loves it.
